EDCTP and ITM Sign Grant Agreement for SAHRI Fellowship

A major milestone has been reached with the signing of the Grant Agreement between Global Health EDCTP3 and the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp (ITM) as the Project Coordinator for the SAHRI Fellowship Program. This agreement formally establishes the framework for this groundbreaking 5-year initiative that will train the next generation of health research leaders in sub-Saharan Africa.

Strategic Partnerships Established Across Africa and European Institutions

The SAHRI Fellowship Program established strategic partnerships with leading research institutions across sub-Saharan Africa, including KEMRI (Kenya), KCMC (Tanzania), IRSS-CRUN (Burkina Faso), UVRI-UNHRO (Uganda), NIMR (Tanzania), University of Rwanda (Rwanda), and Jimma University (Ethiopia). These partnerships will provide placement opportunities and ongoing support for fellows and will join efforts with the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp (Belgium), the Access to Medicines Research Group at KU Leuven (Belgium) and the Global Health Office at BioNTech (Germany).
